Blue Marble Geographics releases the VertCalc software library, which provides a simple way to embed vertical datum conversion in Windows software applications. This is the latest addition to the Blue Marble Development Tools series.
VertCalc communicates with applications via a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) interface, which most common 32-bit development tools for Windows can make use of. The VertCalc functions allow you to obtain heights above the NAD 83 ellipsoid as well as orthometric height differences between NAVD 88 and NGVD 29. These functions are grouped within a clear, conceptual design giving you the flexibility to develop rapid prototypes and powerful integrated applications.
In addition, Vertcalc reads VERTCON datum transformation files and GEOID96 geoid grid files without conversion. A demonstration application is included in the VertCalc package.
