GeoCalc 5.3 Now Available!

Gardiner, Maine — Blue Marble Geographics (www.bluemarblegeo.com) announces the release of a new version of the world’s most recognized coordinate conversion libraries, GeoCalc 5.3. This dynamic link library (DLL) for Windows programmers is used for embedding real-time coordinate conversion in Windows applications. These libraries are also used by our Geographic Calculator and Geographic Transformer products, thus used worldwide by thousands of basic to advanced GIS analysts at universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, and military organizations.

“GeoCalc is the kind of tool that creates instant ROI (Return on Investment),” said Blue Marble President Patrick Cunningham. “Our developer customers look at GeoCalc and realize the value that comes from leveraging already proven technology and avoiding wasting time re-inventing the wheel.”

Blue Marble customer research has shown typical direct cost savings of six figures simply from reduced development time. But that is not all. The indirect and less tangible benefit of a proven industry name such as Blue Marble in your product can mean additional revenues. Your customers know using Blue Marble provides instant credibility and they trust the accuracy of your calculations when you use Blue Marble technology in your applications.

This new version introduces the Iraq Zone coordinate system as well as new support for the Japanese Grid 2000 and the Madagascar RSO Grid. The horizontal datums JGD2000, FD58 Datum (Final Datum 1958) have also been added. This update introduces support for the Laborde Projection. Functional enhancements include new Rhumb line support when performing forward and inverse calculations, Orthometric Height Scale is now available and updated AutoCAD output has been added at the request of many GeoCalc developers. We listen to our local users too! Maine Coordinate System 2000 is now supported.

GeoCalc deployment is not restricted with a software license control, you can embed the DLL into your application for “on-the-fly” conversion, transparent to the end user! Our flexible license model allows for unlimited distribution, contact Blue Marble for available options!
