Blue Marble Application Tools Now Provide Licensing for Wide Area Network (WAN) Access

Gardiner, Maine — April 6, 2007 – Blue Marble Geographics (www.bluemarblegeo.com) announces a new Wide Area Network (WAN) license for their suite of geographic software applications. Via FLEXlm, a popular software license manager, IT administrators may now install the Geographic Calculator and Geographic Translator in one location, and serve users remotely across a WAN connection. The Geographic Transformer is also available for WAN licensing through a different license manager. Blue Marble’s coordinate conversion and file translation technology is used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software companies, universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, government and military organizations.

“Our customers have been asking for this license method, and we are pleased to give them what they need to best leverage the use of our technology,” stated Kris Berglund, Director of Sales and Marketing for Blue Marble. “Customers might buy a pool of 50 licenses, but support a user community of hundreds of occasional users of the software. Using FLEXlm, IT administrators can implement the easiest way for WAN users to quickly install, maintain and update our software.”

Blue Marble WAN licensing also offers an upgrade path, which gives companies the ability to convert existing Blue Marble Single User or Floating Licenses to a concurrent user WAN License, maximizing value and saving companies the time and money involved in administering and transferring individual licenses.
