You can freely use the latest version of Global Mapper that you downloaded and installed. However, without a valid username and registration key, several significant functions will be unavailable. In particular, if you do not obtain a valid registration key for your copy of Global Mapper you will be subject to the following limitations:
 
  • You will be unable to export data to any format.
  • You will be limited to loading a maximum of 4 data files at a time. With the full version, you can load any number of data files simultaneously.
  • You will be unable to view loaded elevation data in 3D.
  • You will be unable to load workspaces.
  • You will be unable to do line of sight calculations using loaded elevation data.
  • You will be unable to perform view shed analysis using loaded elevation data.
  • You will be unable to perform cut-and-fill volume calculations using loaded elevation data.
  • You will be unable to combine terrain layers into a new terrain layer using operations like difference (subraction), addition, min/max, etc.
  • You will be unable to work with map catalogs.
  • You will be unable to download data from WMS map servers.
  • You will be unable to save rectified imagery to fully rectified files.
  • You will be unable to perform watershed analysis and stream delineation from loaded elevation data.
  • You will be unable to join attribute tables against loaded spatial data.
  • You will not be able to print to a specific scale (i.e. 1:1000).
  • You will have to endure a nagging registration dialog everytime that you run the program.
  • You will not be eligible for free email support.

When you start Global Mapper, at the bottom of the license screen you can automatically request a 2 week trial license via the internet. If you encounter any difficulties or have questions, you can send an email to: gmsupport@bluemarblegeo.com.
 
Upgrade Policy
 
All upgrades that have the same major version number as the version that you purchase are FREE! For example, if you purchased Global Mapper v13.00 you can simply download any new versions of Global Mapper that are version 13.XX. Your registration code will continue to work for all new versions with the same major version number and you will automatically have access to all of the new features in the new version.

All Global Mapper purchases come with unlimited technical support via email to gmsupport@bluemarblegeo.com. That's right, technical support is included and extremely responsive. You don't have to purchase an extra support contract to get help and when you do need help you'll get a prompt and informed response from someone who actually developed the application and has the power and ability to make a change or bug fix if necessary.
 
Registration
 
To gain access to the full functionality of Global Mapper you will need to purchase a license. See below for the per-license pricing structure. You will need to purchase a license for every user that will be using the software. After receiving payment, we will send you a user name and registration key to use for the license(s) that you purchased.
