AGIC Workshop – Processing Lidar in Global Mapper Pro

In this hands-on, instructor-led workshop, we will explore a variety of 3D point cloud processing and analysis procedures using Global Mapper Pro. After a brief overview of the key components of the software, we will examine several lidar and point cloud editing and filtering techniques, including automatic classification, noise removal, and positional rectification. Subsequently, we will follow the required steps for transforming ground points into a DTM, before introducing an array of terrain analysis procedures, including volume calculation, contour generation, and change detection. Throughout the workshop, the instructor will introduce numerous tips and tricks to optimize the use of the software. The workshop size is limited to 25 attendees, which provides an opportunity for direct interaction with the instructor. Shortly before the class, registered attendees will be provided with a temporary license for Global Mapper Pro as well as the required data files to allow hands-on participation.
