GIS Application Support Position

Job Description

Blue Marble Geographics is seeking a GIS application software support professional for our mapping software product line. We are looking for an energetic, tech savvy individual that loves to learn. This position is a key role in the support of our growing customer base and a valued member of our team of professionals. The ideal candidate has a passion for software and for satisfying customers, as well as the ability to get down into the details without losing sight of the big picture.

Job duties may include any of the following tasks:

  • Support our thousands of customers from around the world with all types of help desk inquiries from general product questions, how to questions, data problems and more
  • Licensing support
  • Participate in testing and Q/A of our products
  • Support our sales team with technical sales, web demos and training
  • Use troubleshooting skills to accurately diagnose problems, document and effectively escalate when necessary
  • Some travel for conferences or customer training may be required
  • A strong background in the basics of mapping and coordinate system support is required

General Requirements

Experience in software and customer support, testing, and training. Software quality assurance background also desirable. Experience in GIS desired. Experience in software product lifecycle strongly desired. Some travel required. Passport required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required. Computer science, Geography, Applied Environmental Science area preferred, but can be substituted with technical experience.
