Global Mapper Fall 2026 Release: What’s In It for Your Team?

Which Global Mapper subscription tier fits your work, and what does the new offering mean for your team? Our Fall 2026 webinar explores those questions through a project example, a comparison of the three subscription tiers, and an introduction to Blue Marble Hub.

Watch the recording below to learn how the offering supports GIS practitioners and the people responsible for managing their software.

The session features Al Fucaloro, Director of Account Management, and Radhika Raj, Director of Product Management, with host Amelia Johnson, Senior Content Strategist.

Supporting the work from data preparation to map production

A GIS project often requires several kinds of work before the final deliverable is ready. Coordinates need to align, project layers need analysis, and the resulting information needs to make sense to the people using it.

The webinar illustrates those needs through an engineering team planning a new access road. The team must bring together survey coordinates, lidar, drone imagery, and terrain data to understand the proposed corridor and communicate site conditions.

Each application contributes to that process. Geographic Calculator transforms local survey coordinates into a shared coordinate reference system. Global Mapper brings project layers together for preparation, editing, and analysis. MAPublisher supports cartographic design and publishing in Adobe Illustrator, helping the team turn its GIS work into a polished map for project review and communication.

The example offers a way to evaluate the subscription offering: consider the work your team needs to complete and the capabilities required at each stage.

Choosing among Essentials, Advanced, and Professional

The three Global Mapper subscription tiers align with different responsibilities across a GIS team.

Essentials supports occasional users and those focused on data preparation. It includes data viewing, format conversion, access to streamed online data sources, and a geodetics engine.

Advanced builds on Essentials with terrain and vector analysis, scripting and automation, and advanced geodetic analysis. It also includes MAPublisher for cartographic production in Adobe Illustrator.

Professional adds specialist capabilities for lidar and point cloud processing, drone photogrammetry through Pixels to Points, complex imagery and raster analysis, breakline extraction, and AI/ML image classification.

For a team with varied responsibilities, the comparison provides a starting point for matching each user’s access to their day-to-day work.

Managing licenses and access in Blue Marble Hub

Blue Marble Hub gives users and administrators a central place to manage accounts and access licensed products.

The walkthrough introduces tools for inviting users, assigning licenses, viewing purchases, and finding product downloads. It also covers self-service renewals and access to support, documentation, and training.

For teams working in the field or in air-gapped environments, the Hub supports issuing offline tokens. Administrators can view users’ connectivity status and track the time remaining on offline access, helping them plan around the conditions in which their teams work.

Understanding what subscription includes

All three tiers include Blue Marble Hub, single sign-on, offline access, support, and the training library. The subscription offering also includes four releases per year, alongside fixes and security patches, without a separate maintenance and support contract to renew.

The webinar explains how ongoing development fits into that model and highlights subscription-exclusive capabilities. Examples discussed include styled data exchange, expanded streaming options, advanced geodetics, and specialist improvements for lidar and photogrammetry.

Existing perpetual licenses continue to run. New features ship through the subscription offering, making future capability needs part of the decision when evaluating your options.
