Select All Area Features Enclosed within the Selected Areas
This operation will perform a selection of areas based on their relationship to an already selected area feature. This is a selection by location based on overlapping or being contained inside of an area feature.
To use this tool: Select one or more area features, then access the tool from either location:
- Right-click with the Digitizer, or open the Digitizer menu, and go to the Advanced Selection Options sub-menu.
- Open the Digitizer Toolset, choose this option from the Advanced Selection Options dropdown menu, and click Select.
Area Coverage
A dialog will appear to specify the Area Coverage, the spatial relationship between the current selected area(s) and the areas to be considered.

Completely Inside a Selected Area - The final selection will be area features with geometry completely inside one or more of the currently selected areas.

Any Overlap with a Selected Area Allowed - The final selection will be area(s) with any shared coverage area with current selected feature(s). Any Overlap means that the areas must share more than just a vertex, the interior area must overlap.

Centroid Must be in a Selected Area- The final selection will be area(s) whose centroid falls inside one or more of the current selected areas.

Majority of Area Must be in a Selected Area - The final selection will be area features with more than half of their coverage area inside of one or more currently selected areas.
