Save Map to File

This option allows users to save map data as a Global Mapper Mobile Package file (*.GMMP). The purchase of the Global Mapper Mobile Pro Module provides users with the additional option to Save Map to File using the GeoPackage (*gpkg) format.

Save Map stores changes to the current map file on the device.

Save Map As creates a new map file. After saving the map with the new name, the user will be prompted to load the new map or continue working in the original file. The new map will appear on the Maps list.

Save Online Imagery - This feature requires a Pro license - allows users to download streamed online data for offline use.

Map File Format Options:

Global Mapper Mobile Package file (*.GMMP)

Include Hidden Layers - All layers, visible or hidden, from the open map will be saved.

Include Raster Layers - Save raster and elevation layers to the map file. Uncheck this option to save only vector data.

Include View Bounds - Remember he current view extent and recreate that view when the saved file is loaded.

Vector Data

Double-Precision Vector Coordinates - Double precision format will be used to save vector data. This will increase accuracy in the coordinate values but increases the file size.

Embed Images - Enable to embed images associated with any features. This includes images as Picture Points and images attached to vector features.

Embed Audio - Enable to save Attached Audio attributes in the map file. Audio will be saved in the format selected in Configuration.

GeoPackage (*.gpkg)

This feature requires a Pro license

Include Hidden Layers - All layers, visible or hidden, from the open map will be saved. Note: Lidar is not supported by GeoPackage (*.gpkg) files.

Table Name - Customize the table name

Max Zoom Level - Choose the maximum zoom level from a list (zoom levels 3 to 23)

Number of Zoom Levels - Set the number of zoom levels that will be used

Tile Image Format - Choose to save tiles in JPG or PNG format.

Tile Image Size - Select the tile size in pixels

JPG Quality - Enter the JPG quality (1 to 100)

Lidar LAS (.las) or Lidar LASzip(.laz)

LAS is the most common file type for lidar, and contains all associated attribute and projection information. If the exported file will be large, consider choosing the compressed version: LASzip (.laz).

Include Hidden Layers - All lidar layers, visible or hidden, from the open map will be saved.

Vector Data

Include Point Clouds - Uncheck to exclude lidar point cloud layers.

Include Feature Vertices - Features must have either an ELEVATION attribute, or per-vertex elevations, to be included in the export.

PLY (ASCII Point Cloud Lat/Long)

Note that the text file formats do not inherently contain projection information. You will want to note the file's projection for future reference.

Include Hidden Layers - All compatible layers, visible or hidden, from the open map will be saved.

Vector Data

Include Point Clouds - Uncheck to exclude lidar point cloud layers.

Include Feature Verticies - Features must have either an ELEVATION attribute, or per-vertex elevations, to be included in the export.
