Adding Data to an iOS Device with iTunes

  1. Connect the mobile device to a computer using a USB sync cable.

  2. Click the “Sync” button on the bottom of iTunes.

  3. Click “Add..” under “Global Mapper Mobile Documents”

  4. Browse for the *.gmmp file you created in step three and click “Add”.

  5. Select “Global Mapper Mobile”

  6. Scroll down to the “File Sharing” section.

  7. Select “Apps” from the Settings list on left hand side of iTunes.

  8. Click on the device icon on the upper left corner of iTunes. (See screen shot below – your version may appear differently.)

  9. Allow iTunes to sync to the device.

  10. By default, iTunes should start automatically. If this is not the case, start iTunes manually.

Adding Data to an iOS Device with Finder

This method of file sharing is only applicable for transferring files from a Mac OS machine. Other Apple file sharing methods such as AirDrop may be available for transferring files between Mac OS and iOS devices. Please note there is no version of Global Mapper desktop for Mac OS.

  1. Connect the mobile device to a Mac computer using a USB sync cable.

  2. Use the finder and navigate to the location on your machine where you have stored your *.GMMP file. Copy this file.

  3. Use the finder to navigate to the folder on the iOS device where you would like to copy your *.GMMP file and paste the copied file to that location.
