Forward Calculation

A forward calculation calculates the position (i.e. the coordinates) of a point given a starting point (coordinate) and either a distance and Azimuth away from that point, or a CCG string relating to that point.

For example:

If you need to know the coordinate of a point located 1000 meters at an azimuth of 45 degrees from a known point, you would perform a Forward Calculation.

Note: For both Forward and Inverse conversions, when height values are entered, the distance is scaled to a height above the ellipsoid. For more information see Height Above Ellipsoid (HAE) Calculations
