We now offer webinars and a series of webcasts that are full of great content for individuals wishing to learn more about Blue Marble's products.
Webinars are live broadcasts that offer the opportunity to learn about what's new in our products and ask questions about the broadcast. Please register for the ones that interest you.
Our webcasts are a series of prerecorded videos that are released on the following set dates below. No registration is needed. Subscribe to our YouTube channel and you will receive automatic updates when the webcasts are available. You can also follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter where we will announce all these releases.
Below is the list of available webinars and webcasts. Please click on the 'Register' links to sign up for the ones that interest you. If no register link is shown, this will be a webcast available for viewing on the date listed.
Previous webinars and webcasts are listed below the upcoming webinars.
When planning December's webcast, during which we uncovered some of Global Mapper's less well-known components, it quickly became apparent that there was considerably more content than could be discussed in a single hour-long presentation. So much so, in fact, that we realized that a second webcast would be needed.
December's agenda introduced some of our favorite workflows, including vectorizing features from a raster layer and label optimization, but left us no time for raster feathering, density mapping, or several other hidden Global Mapper gems. So for January's webcast, we pose the same question as before, "So You Think You Know Global Mapper?" This month's session will include:
In this session on the Geographic Calculator, new and intermediate users will be familiarized with the layout and operation of the application. Users experienced in previous versions will get a refresher on the software and an introduction to recent functional upgrades, including support for writing coordinate systems for a Petrel™ CTL file and updates that streamline working with the Area Calculation interface. We will also take a look at the new beta release of the GeoCalc Geodetic Registry and how it works. The new online registry can be used to research and update new geodetic definitions into Geographic Calculator's database which also now includes deprecation of definitions that are no longer valid. There's a lot to cover, so join us for this hour on what's new in Calculator!

This month's sessions will cover a two-part series, examining the combined features of Geographic Calculator 2015 and the Global Mapper 16.2. In part one, we will explore the administrative features of the Geographic Calculator which allow users to set up custom geodetic parameters, restrict, and streamline access to the database of coordinate systems. These administrative tools can now be used to control how users of the Geographic Calculator and Global Mapper interact with the database of geodetic parameters in both applications. We will explore elements of the geodetic engine, such as the dialogs used to define the various types of parameters, how to filter out unwanted parameters from the list, and how to set up access control for specific parameters by geography. This first part of the series will apply to users of either application.
