This Blue Marble Desktop download file contains Geographic Calculator, Geographic Transformer and Spatial Connect. If you have already downloaded the latest Blue Marble Desktop or the latest Desktop Edition of Geographic Transformer or Geographic Calculator, you've already downloaded this file and simply need to install it to run Spatial Connect.
This download file can be used for any Blue Marble Desktop Spatial Connect license type.
If you are evaluating Spatial Connect, you may use the License Wizard to obtain a 7 day temporary license. Please explore the user interface and features of the product. You will be able to do full conversions to and from spatial database datatypes in the Vector Data conversion job to assist in your evaluation.
Spatial Connect requires a Geographic Calculator license in order to run. If you do not have a Geographic Calculator license already, the Spatial Connect evaluation license will also act as an evaluation license for Geographic Calculator to enable you to test the functionality of both Spatial Connect and the Geographic Calculator.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
If you are installing this version as an upgrade to previous version of Blue Marble Desktop, please follow these directions:
Note: Calculator 7.0 workspaces are not compatible with 7.4 workspaces, however, latter version workspaces should be ok. To be safe you should make notes on your workspaces prior to installing 7.4.
1.) If you have created custom Coordinate Systems in a version of Transformer previous to 6.0 or Calculator previous to 7.0, please move your 'geocalc.dat' file (the parameter database) to a new location to avoid any custom coordinate systems being overwritten..
2.) If you had Calculator 7.0 installed and have created custom Coordinate Systems there, please backup your 'custom.xml' found in 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blue Marble Geographics\Geographic Calculator\7, 0, 0, 0\DataSource'.
3.) It is not necessary to uninstall the Calculator 7.x, but it is recommended. If your version is older then 7.0 please uninstall it now.
4.) Install Blue Marble Desktop. This will insure we install our latest version of the geocalc.xml file.
5.) Once you have Blue Marble Desktop running, you can import your old geocalc.dat file by selecting 'Import GeoCalc DAT' from the Options menu.
6.) To use a previous custom.xml, it will need to be copied to the following directory for Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blue Marble Geographics\Blue Marble Desktop\DataSource\ or for Windows Vista: C:\ProgramData\Blue Marble Geographics\Blue Marble Desktop\Datasource
7.) Please see the Release Notes for more details of this process.
