Geographic Calculator 2014
Powerful geospatial data conversion and translation made easy! Believe it or not, its true. For decades, Blue Marble has provided trusted software solutions that have simplified a not-so-simple part of GIS work, accurate data conversion. Ask around, our geodetic parameter data source is one of the most comprehensive and recognized in the GIS world. When your transformations have to be correct, consistent and certifiable, it has to be Blue Marble.
Since 1993 The Geographic Calculator has been the coordinate conversion tool of choice for GIS and Survey professionals. The Calculator grew in popularity over that first decade to gain a reputation as the best in market for coordinate conversion. The underlying GeoCalc library was re-written in 2004 and a new version of Calculator was released in 2007 as the Blue Marble Desktop. The 2014 version of Calculator has come a long way since then and incorporates all of the functionality of the desktop including the Geographic Transformer, Translator and Spatial Connect products. Today the tool provides a single platform for highly accurate coordinate transformation of virtually any type of geospatial data. Geographic Calculator 2014 features an XML based coordinate object library, a Project Manager that allows for data processing jobs and workflow management, administrative tools that enable the data manager to customize the datasource and restrict editing access, unmatched Geoid or vertical datum support, powerful survey seismic format support, raster georeferencing, mosaicking and reprojecting along with vector file translation tools, an Esri extension and powerful CAD support. This all-in-one interface enables users to complete a number of geodetic and geospatial transformation functions on various types of data in the same interface. The enterprise collaboration tools such as workspaces and network folders enable consistency for highly accurate data translation across your organization. Thank you for choosing the Geographic Calculator.
Geographic Calculator 2014 features new functionality to display and support EPSG Area of Use Polygon data, improved Vertical Coordinate system handling, and a new Land Survey Summary job for generating printed layouts in Canadian survey systems. This latest version features new functionality to display and support EPSG Area of Use Polygon data. This includes integration into the transformation picker dialog to display these polygons while selecting transformations, support for loading EPSG polygons into viewers, and they can also be used to filter results for transformations. This allows for additional geographic reference information to be at the users fingertips when selecting coordinate systems and transformations. The Area of Use polygons allows the user to visually see on a map where a coordinate system or transformation is intended to be used and is another example of the Geographic Calculator's ability to streamline workflows. Additionally, version 2014 features improved Vertical Coordinate system handling. This enhanced model now aligns with EPSG Vertical CRS definitions and includes the option to dynamically select vertical transformations. Thus providing the user with flexible transformation options when working with high accuracy elevation based data. The release also features the new Land Survey Summary job for generating printed layouts in Canadian survey systems. Users needing to work with surveying data within the borders of Alberta and Saskatchewan to plot points and lines directly from Dominion Land Survey coordinates, can now easily do so. A note on Blue Marble Desktop and Geographic Transformer - The Blue Marble Desktop is now the Geographic Calculator. The modules such as Geographic Transformer and Spatial Connect have been incorporated into Calculator and all of their functionality is now available in the Calculator through one license. There is also no more versioning for the Geographic Calculator, it will now be released annually with service packs between releases. If you have a Geographic Transformer license, you now will be able to access and use all functionality in the Calculator jobs and vice versa with a current license.
