Installing and Configuring the Floating License
To make these instructions easier to follow, we have used the term Licensed Machine to represent the computer where the license is currently in use and Target Machine to represent the computer to which you want to transfer the license.
You must completely install the application you have purchased on the Target Machine before attempting to float the license.
NOTE: the application and version on the Target Machine must match that found on the Licensed Machine or the system will lose the license and you will have to contact Blue Marble Geographics for support. You can click Help-->About in the application to verify the version number on the splash screen (Figure 1).
Figure 1. The About splash screen will provide you the version number for your Blue Marble Geographics application.
Once you have successfully installed the same version of the Blue Marble Geographics application on each of your workstations, please complete the following tasks:
1) Open the application on the Target Machine, and then click File-->License Manager to open the license manager (Figure 2).
Figure 2. Click on the License Manager menu option under the File button on the menu bar at the top of the application window.
2) You will find the Status field indicates that the application in EVALUATION mode (Figure 3).

Troubleshooting: If you feel you followed the above steps correctly and your license still hasn't "floated" please check the following, as they are common errors:
- The application or versions are of different values (example: you cannot float a Transformer v5.1 license to a machine installed with Transformer v5.2)
- You incorrectly noted the serial number or license code. (Note: the Serial Number is ALWAYS an eight digit number, the license code is also eight characters long, and is alphanumeric. Be careful not to confuse an O (capital letter ‘o’) with a 0 (zero), as they look similar.)
