When I write ECW or Jpeg2000 images as output, I get Error 405. What is this?
Error 405 is the result of a limitation of the libraries that write out these file types. The limitation prevents the application from overwriting an existing file. Try changing the name of your output file, or writing your output to a different directory.
My Mosaic output has bizarre colors and parts of it are distorted, why?
The input image maps must share a common coordinate system, pixel resolution, number of colors, and have equivalent color palettes in order to be mosaicked. The mosaicking results will be highly unpredictable if any of these variables are not equivalent.
Why do I get Error 110 when writing to Tiff, Bitmap, or PNG?
These formats have practical limitations on the size of file that can be written and used in most software. The output size limits are as follows:
|
Tiff: |
2.4gb |
|
Bitmap: |
300mb |
|
PNG: |
300mb |
Sometimes my progress meter does not close on completion, or the completion window does not show up, what do I do?
You can either click Alt+Tab to bring up the completion dialog, or restart the application to get rid of the progress meter.
When I perform a transformation, my image has jagged edges.
It may be a Preference setting. Go to OptionsPreferencesGeneral Tab. Check to see if "Use compression" is checked. If it is, uncheck it for the transformation. If unchecking that option does not resolve the problem, contact Blue Marble Support.
The colors in my image do not display correctly. What do I do?
More than likely, you do not have enough colors specified in your Windows settings. Go to your Windows display settings (StartSettingsControl PanelDisplaySettings) and increase the number of colors to the maximum allowed by your graphics card.
What is the difference between the first reference file that I save and the one that is produced after the transformation?
The first file that is made (for example, the *.rsf file) is just a list of points that will be linked to the image during the transformation process. The reference file that is produced during the transformation is the reference file that is associated with the transformed image.
Why do I get an error when trying to uninstall the application?
You must close the Geographic Transformer prior to running the uninstallation utility. If you get an error message, click OK to close the message, then close the Transformer, then try running the uninstall again.
When I uninstall the application, what will happen to my custom coordinate system, datum, ellipsoids, linear units, and angular unit definitions?
All of these definitions are stored in the geocalc.dat file that is located in a subdirectory of the application installation called "data". The default location of this directory is C:\Program Files\Blue Marble Geo\Geographic Transformer\data. When you uninstall the application, this directory will be preserved. To remove this you can manually delete the directory. If you wish to overwrite all your files during an upgrade, you will need to delete this directory prior to installing the upgraded version.
