What is the Geographic Tracker?

GPS answers the significant world demand for accurate, viable and cost effective positioning systems. The Geographic Tracker allows you to link a GPS receiver to other Microsoft Windows applications.. This standard "plug-and-play" GPS interface component supports most of the leading GPS receivers on the market.

Through connections to other applications you can show a real-time Global Positioning System derived position directly on top of a map background, collect field data in real-time, or automatically update geographic positions within your spreadsheet or database application. You can also record and play back GPS positions to and from a simulation log file.

The Geographic Tracker includes several Blue Marble "GPS/DirectPacks" that allows you perform "GPS Tracking" by showing a real-time GPS derived position directly on top of a map background within MapInfo. We have also included a sample spreadsheet that demonstrates the use of GPS information directly from within Excel and Visual Basic.
