Data Source Files

There are three data source files shipped with GeoCalc 6.3.5:

·         geocalc.xml - This contains all of the definitions that were in the geocalc.dat file shipped with GeoCalcDLL v5.3 and earlier, as well as many new definitions supplied by Blue Marble Geographics.

·         epsg.xml - The EPSG v6.14 database.  Many of the Envelopes in this data source are trivial Envelopes that have AlwaysAccept set to true.

·         geodata.xml - This data source file is a merge of geocalc.xml and epsg.xml.  The definitions have further been organized into folders to make browsing and searching easier.

The data source files shipped with GeoCalc 6.3.5 are not compatible with the data source files shipped with GeoCalc 6.1 and earlier.  If you try to load a data source file from an older version of GeoCalc into the GeoCalc 6.3.5 DataSource, not all data will be correctly loaded.

If you have made customizations to an earlier version of the data source that you would like to merge into the new data source files, we recommend the use of the DataSourceEditor dialog.  This dialog provides the ability to add definitions to the data source, remove definitions from the data source, edit definitions in the data source, and organize the definitions into folders.  For a description of the DataSourceEditor dialog, click here.  Further information about the DataSourceEditor can be found in the Getting Started Guide.
