Quick Start - Seismic Survey Conversion

To open a new Seismic Survey Conversion job:

  • Select File>New>Job>Seismic Survey Conversion or
  • Click the New Seismic Survey Job button on the toolbar or
  • Select the Seismic Survey Conversion option on the Start Page and click 'Create Job'

The steps for converting a seismic survey file are:

  1. Open a Seismic Survey Conversion job.

  2. Click the "..." button in the Input Data area to load your datafile.

  3. If prompted "Do you want to use the scheme selected in the Preferences to load the file?" click "Yes," to open the selected file using the default scheme for whichever format is being used. If you click "No" you will be prompted to change various aspects of the default scheme to handle the specific formatting of your file.

  4. Define the input and output coordinate systems, vertical references, and units.

Note that there are two output coordinate systems: projected and geodetic. Use one or both depending on whether the file being processed contains columns with projected and/or geodetic data.

  5. Output values will be displayed according to the specifications defined within the Unit Display Settings dialog box. Click the Format button in any of the coordinate system areas to view or change these specifications.

  6. In the Output Data area, select the desired type, then click the "..." button to specify an output file.

  7. Click the Process button. Values will be read from the various projected and/or geodetic data columns for each row in the table, converted, and the results written out to the specified output file.
