Entry Level and Experienced GIS Software Sales Person
Job Description
We need an out-going, smart, and experienced professional for inbound and outbound phone sales. Experience in sales is a plus, but experience in GIS or technology is just as important. If you are excited by the opportunity of working for a growing mapping software company in central Maine then this is the job for you. We have a great product line that is easy to get behind. The candidate must have good communications skills, be comfortable with business to business sales and must be comfortable with Windows based computer technology. Experience in software sales a huge plus! Responsibilities will include:
- Qualifying leads that we receive from various sources
- Processing sales and orders
- Assisting with trade shows
- Presenting demos of the product both on line and in person
- Working with our current partners and resellers as well as recruiting new ones
- Assisting with management of the sales process, both administratively and organizationally.
Potential for growth is great. Knowledge or interest in maps and GIS a big plus.
Job Requirements
Candidate must have good communications skills, be a genuine people person, must have business-to-business sales or marketing experience and must be comfortable with Windows based computer technology & demonstrated skill using Microsoft Office. If you do not meet these requirements do not apply. Some travel may be required.
Education Requirements
High school diploma required, college degree preferred.

Some of our development plans include products that interface with Google Earth, 3D engines, GPS tools and advance mapping software. We are seeking entry level to senior software developers to assist with implementing the next generation of our industry standard GIS software tools. The successful candidates will have a proven ability to analyze, design and implement large software development projects. Experience in Geodesy is desired, but candidates with good math skills will be acceptable as well. This is an opportunity to work within a progressive, small team-oriented company. Successful software engineer candidates will have the ability to interact effectively with others and work as a team member with a willingness to be both a cook and a bottlewasher. Blue Marble Geographics is the place to be if you have a desire to learn new things every day, create effective code, and want to live in the beautiful State of Maine. Visual C or C++, Delphi, and Visual Basic in a Windows environment skills necessary.

Job Requirements
Required 1 or more years experience working with Visual C++, Delphi, and Visual Basic in a Windows environment. Preferred experience with GIS and/or advanced 2d/3d mathematical geodesy processes. Preferred knowledge of Microsoft VC++ 6.0, Active Template Library (ATL), and Component Object Model (COM). Additional skills in Visual Basic, Delphi, or C++ Builder, Java are appreciated.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, GIS or equivalent experience required.
